4-H Canada is excited host 4-H youth delegates from across Canada for the 2016 4-H Canada Citizenship Congress, May 3-8 at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre.
The 4-H Canada Citizenship Congress will deepen your understanding of governance and public policy, nurture your communication skills and expand your horizons as you discover Canada through the nation’s capital. Workshops will culminate with the annual debate, where you and your fellow members will construct insightful arguments and practise your skills of persuasion and public speaking. Ultimately you’ll learn more about Canada, its government and yourself. The theme for the 2016 4-H Canada Citizenship Congress is “Canada: Redefining Rural.”
The Congress will deliver programming related to our Community Engagemet & Communications pillar, all with the focus of empowering you and other 4-H youth to promote Canadian agriculture and its impact on both rural and urban communities.
Delegates can find a detailed daily agenda below or download the 2016 4-H Canada Citizenship program (NB: this program may be subject to change).
There are several concurrent workshops taking place throughout the Congress. Please take the time now to login to your Fluid account and select your choices for workshops before they fill up!
As part of one of our other pillars, Environment & Healthy Living, 4-H Canada's 2016 Citizenship Congress will be printing as little paper as possible. There will also be opportunities for you to enjoy what Ottawa has to offer and get outside for activities.
